The legal team representing a private school foundation in the Pondok Pinang area of Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, has requested that the police open a bunker room suspected of containing dangerous items. The call for action follows the discovery of 995 firearms, a bullet mould, pornographic CDs, and narcotics in another sealed room at the school. “We are asking for seriousness and immediate action, because there is still a room we cannot open. We hope this room, which is shaped like a bunker, will be followed up immediately by the police,” said foundation lawyer Hermawanto at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday. Hermawanto explained that the bunker is located in a hidden underground area and expressed hope that no further weapons or dangerous goods would be found inside. The initial discovery of the 995 firearms, ammunition, and other accessories was made by the foundation’s legal team on Friday, 10 July. A subsequent search on Wednesday, 5 August, uncovered additional weapons, marijuana, methamphetamine, and pornographic VCDs, prompting the team to report the matter to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The police confirmed the findings and stated that they received the report from the public on 15 July 2026. Investigators have since created a Model A police report to serve as the basis for initial handling and further investigation into the case.
