Ambon (ANTARA) - The Maluku Golkar Provincial Board (DPD I) has urged the police to thoroughly investigate the alleged stabbing of the Chairman of the Golkar Maluku Tenggara (Malra) Branch II, Agrapinus Rumatora (Nus Kei), by an unknown individual at the exit of Karel Sadsuitubun Airport. “We demand that this be investigated to the fullest and, at the same time, express our deep concern over the stabbing incident that befell the Chairman of Golkar Malra,” said Chairman of the Maluku Golkar Provincial Board, Umar A. Lessy, in a written statement in Ambon on Sunday. He assessed that this event is a serious occurrence that not only impacts the victim and their family but also has the potential to disrupt social stability and the conducive situation in the area, particularly in Malra. “We strongly condemn any form of violence that occurs against the Chairman of DPD II Malra. This stabbing is an illegal act and cannot be tolerated in national and state life,” said Umar. Therefore, Golkar has urged all cadres in Maluku, especially in Maluku Tenggara Regency, to remain restrained, not be provoked, and maintain a safe and conducive situation. Golkar also requested that security forces immediately investigate thoroughly by arresting the perpetrators and transparently and professionally revealing the motive behind the incident. “We encourage all parties, including community leaders, religious figures, and youth elements, to jointly maintain security and order in society and not to spread unverified information,” he stated. He also instructed all Golkar party structures in Maluku to remain solid, strengthen internal communication, and fully entrust the handling of this case to law enforcement authorities. The Maluku Golkar Provincial Board also expressed its stance to reaffirm the party’s commitment to upholding democratic values, peace, and the supremacy of law in Maluku Province.
