Police Urge Public to Help Locate Taufik Hidayat, Suspect in Woman's Confinement
West Java Police have placed Taufik Hidayat (30) on a wanted list (DPO) in connection with the assault and confinement of his girlfriend, YTR (29), at her boarding house in Cileunyi, Bandung Regency. Police are urging members of the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts.
West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan made the appeal after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. “I can also inform you that we have issued a wanted list. We are asking for the public’s cooperation — if anyone sees, knows of, or encounters him, please work with the West Java Police, particularly Polda Jabar, to report his location,” he said, as quoted by detikJabar on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
A special team has been formed to pursue Taufik Hidayat, involving the Directorate of Narcotics, Cyber Crime, Special Criminal Investigation, and General Criminal Investigation. Investigators have also obtained details of a company where Taufik Hidayat previously worked as a debt collector.
Taufik has now been officially named a suspect. He is charged under Article 466 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. “I can confirm that a few days ago, TH (Taufik Hidayat) was named a suspect in the assault and confinement case,” the police chief stated.
