JAKARTA - Indonesian National Police (Polri) have urged the public not to engage in excessive convoys during Takbiran night on Friday, 20 March 2026. “We remind the public not to conduct excessive convoys on Takbiran night, to avoid anarchic behaviour, and to maintain order in their respective communities,” emphasised Kombes Pol Marupa Sagala, Spokesperson for the Public Relations Task Force of Operasi Ketupat 2026, in his statement on Friday. The public is requested to comply with traffic signs, follow instructions from officers, and plan travel times to avoid congestion. “For those needing assistance, they can contact the Polri hotline at number 110, available 24 hours,” he said. Furthermore, Polri reminds the public to prioritise safety during the homecoming journey, from ensuring vehicles are in prime condition to not pushing oneself when fatigued. In addition, the public is urged to heighten vigilance against potential criminal acts, both during travel and when leaving homes unattended.
