Police urge Eid travellers to call 110 for roadside assistance during holiday exodus
“If people experience problems on the road, they can contact the Police hotline 110 to make it easier for the police to provide services in the field,” Prasetyo said when met at the KM 29 Command Center here on Saturday.
In addition, the National Police also operate a Short Message Service (SMS) blast system. Through this technology, travelers will receive the latest information on traffic conditions via SMS.
“When traffic flows become congested, the information can be delivered early to the public. The aim is so that people can determine which routes they will choose,” he said.
He explained that discretionary traffic scheme measures will also be conveyed to travelers through the SMS blast service.
“For example, two hours before traffic scheme is implemented, whether for contraflow or one-way systems, the SMS blast will inform the public that contraflow will be implemented in two hours. For instance, (for travelers between) kilometer 29 to kilometer 70 or up to Kalikangkung Toll Road,” the deputy police chief explained.
The deputy police chief, together with officials from the National Police Headquarters, also monitored traffic conditions through aerial observation at around 10 a.m. local time.
From the monitoring, he added that outbound traffic from Jakarta was running very smoothly, although there has been an increase in the number of vehicles.
Apart from traffic conditions, he said that public security and order also remained conducive.
The Operation Ketupat, to ensure smoothness and security during the Eid holiday, will run for 13 days, from March 13 to March 25, 2026, involving 161,243 joint personnel.
The National Police have prepared 2,746 posts consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts to serve as information and service centers for people traveling during the period.
