Police Uncover 'Vibrating Pod' Drug Circulation in Bogor, a First for West Java

Bogor Police have uncovered the circulation of narcotics in liquid or vape cartridge form (‘vibration pods’) and Happy Water in Bogor Regency. One trafficker was arrested.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto said the trafficking of vape liquid containing etomidate was a new type of narcotics case circulating in Bogor Regency. The evidence secured in the operation comprised 65 cartridges, or electronic cigarette liquids, and 70 packets of Happy Water.

“Let me explain something quite significant, relating to new narcotics variants, namely etomidate and Happy Water. This is a new discovery, as we have never previously uncovered etomidate. It turns out this substance has already entered Bogor Regency,” said Wikha at a press conference on Monday (20/7/2026).

“Officers secured one suspect with the initials EJ, along with evidence of 65 etomidate cartridges and 70 packets of Happy Water,” he added.

The Bogor Police Narcotics Unit has now uncovered three cases involving etomidate and Happy Water in the past three months. According to Wikha, this is the first such discovery in West Java.

“The head of the narcotics unit explained that, within the West Java Regional Police, the Bogor Police Narcotics Unit is the first to uncover a case involving etomidate,” said Wikha.

As previously reported, Bogor Police have exposed 74 cases and secured 95 suspects related to drug trafficking over the past three months. The evidence included three kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine, 1,068 units of certain hard drugs (OKT), 65 vibration pods, 70 packets of Happy Water, and 1,193 ecstasy pills.

“So these disclosures cover three months. During that period, the Bogor Police Narcotics Investigation Unit has broken open 74 drug trafficking cases and secured 95 suspects,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto at a press briefing on Monday (20/7).

“These consist of 91 men and four women,” he continued.
