Police Uncover Shoe Smuggling from Factory in Serang, Main Perpetrator Still Being Hunted

Cikande Sector Police Station, under Serang District Police, has uncovered a case of smuggling Adidas shoes produced by PT Nikomas Gemilang. Three perpetrators have been arrested and are currently undergoing trial, while the main perpetrator is still being pursued by the police.

Cikande Police Chief AKP Tatang explained that the case occurred in December 2025. Three individuals have been arrested: two women named Erly Sumarni and Tri Hidayati, and one man named Hari Setiawan. Meanwhile, the main perpetrator or mastermind behind the incident is a woman named Muanah, who is still on the wanted list (DPO).

According to Tatang, Muanah collaborated with the three other perpetrators to smuggle 15 pairs of Adidas-brand shoes produced by PT Nikomas Gemilang, which were supposed to be exported.

“Based on the investigation results, Muanah is the key to this criminal act. She is the one who took 15 pairs of Adidas shoes (14 pairs of Adizero model and 1 pair of Superstar) directly from the Adidas Land production line,” said Tatang on Thursday (14/4/2026).

After successfully taking the goods, Muanah handed them over to the other perpetrators to be hidden in handbags and taken out of the factory area. However, the smuggling attempt was thwarted by the company’s security officers.

In this uncovering, the security personnel of PT Nikomas Gemilang have handed over all the evidence in the form of 15 pairs of Adidas shoes to the investigators at Cikande Sector Police Station.

“The total material loss suffered by the company due to the perpetrators’ actions amounts to Rp 37,500,000,” said Tatang.

The three perpetrators, excluding Muanah, are currently undergoing trial at the Serang District Court (PN). Meanwhile, the police are still pursuing Muanah as the main perpetrator.

“Ms Muanah is the first link in this case because she is the one who took the goods from inside the production line. We emphasise that the legal process does not stop here. Our team will continue to track the whereabouts of the DPO until she is caught,” he stressed.

The DPO named Muanah (34) is known to be a resident of Binijaya Village, Ciruas Subdistrict, Serang Regency. The police urge the perpetrator to act cooperatively and ask the public who know the perpetrator’s whereabouts to report immediately to Cikande Sector Police Station.

“This firm action is taken to maintain the conducive security in the industrial area of Serang Regency,” he said.
