Indramayu police have successfully dismantled a case of mixing subsidised 3kg LPG gas into 12kg LPG gas, with the perpetrator causing losses to the state finances amounting to tens of millions of rupiah. Indramayu Police Chief, AKBP Mochamad Fajar Gemilang, stated that the LPG mixing case occurred in the Blok Nambo area, Gantar Village/District, Indramayu Regency. “In this case, we secured one suspect with initials RW (40), a resident of Gantar Village/District,” said Fajar, accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation, AKP M Arwin Bachar, during a press conference at the Indramayu Police Headquarters on Wednesday (15/4/2026). He explained that the case’s revelation stemmed from information received by officers regarding the misuse of subsidised LPG in Gantar District. Upon receiving the information, officers proceeded to the location and found the suspect loading 12kg LPG cylinders into a Carry pickup truck on Tuesday (7/4/2026). After conducting a search, police discovered numerous subsidised 3kg LPG cylinders and several other pieces of evidence at the scene. The suspect could not deny the act and admitted to mixing the LPG gas. In the case, the suspect transferred the contents of subsidised 3kg LPG cylinders to non-subsidised 12kg LPG cylinders using prepared equipment. Subsequently, the suspect sold the LPG gas at non-subsidised prices to consumers.
