Police Uncover Drug Trafficking Case at Entertainment Venue in South Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Narcotics Criminal Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency has successfully uncovered an alleged drug trafficking case at an entertainment venue initialled WR in South Jakarta.
Director of Narcotics Criminals at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General of Police Eko Hadi Santoso, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that his team has named five suspects in this case: FR as the dealer, ES alias Ewing as the dealer, RE as the supervisor, MHN alias Sean as the room captain, and RF alias Kiki as the waitress.
He explained that the case began to unravel when Subdirectorate IV of the Narcotics Criminal Directorate received information about narcotics distribution. After an investigation, it was determined that the nightlife venue involved in narcotics trafficking was WR.
A joint team from Subdirectorate IV and the NIC Task Force then conducted an investigation together with an undercover asset.
The undercover asset, he revealed, initially contacted a waitress initialled RF alias Kiki to conduct an undercover purchase. However, the waitress claimed not to know and immediately approached MHN alias Sean, the captain.
After being contacted by Kiki, Sean immediately reached out to RE, the supervisor. Upon learning of this, RE contacted FR and informed him of a guest’s order.
Shortly thereafter, FR arrived carrying a quantity of drugs and was immediately secured by investigators.
“From the examination, 10 pink ecstasy pills wrapped in a clip plastic bag were found, along with two pods suspected to contain etomidate liquid,” he said.
From interrogating FR, it was learned that he obtained the illicit goods from his associate initialled ES alias Ewing.
“Ewing is the one who invited FR to work at the WR nightlife venue to deliver narcotics into rooms ordered by guests,” Eko stated.
Meanwhile, Ewing obtained the narcotics he sold at WR from an individual initialled UKM.
Additionally, according to FR’s statement, when Ewing received a quantity of narcotics from UKM, Ewing and FR split the illicit goods.
They then stored them in their respective safes to be distributed at the WR nightlife venue. The proceeds from the sales were also stored back in their respective safes.
“From the initial interrogation of Ewing, Ewing obtained the goods from a UKM referred to as Koko. FR and Ewing were paid Rp15 million by Koko,” he said.
In the meantime, based on searches of rooms at WR, remnants of ketamine powder and used balloons for whipping gas were found. Additionally, balloons and whipping gas were discovered in the kitchen.
Eko also revealed that his team had previously conducted an operation to uncover drug trafficking at WR.
For the next steps, he said that the suspects and evidence have been brought to the Narcotics Directorate headquarters at National Police Headquarters for further examination and case development.
