REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA – The case of alleged violence against children at the Little Aresha daycare in the Umbulharjo area of Yogyakarta City continues to unfold. Police detained 30 people during a raid conducted on Friday (24/4/2026), comprising caregivers up to officials from the foundation overseeing the childcare facility.

“Alhamdulillah, yesterday we also secured around 30 people,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Yogyakarta Police Resort, Commissioner Police Riski Adrian, at the Yogyakarta Police Resort headquarters on Saturday (25/4/2026).

“There are caregivers, as well as officials from that daycare foundation,” he added.

Currently, all detained parties are undergoing intensive examinations by investigators. Police are still probing the role of each individual in the alleged abuse case.

The examinations of the 30 people are being conducted marathon-style, and as of now, none have been designated as suspects. “Not yet, but the picture is already there. The picture is already there, but there are indeed formal shortcomings that need to be addressed by the Child Protection Unit,” he said.
