National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced that the police successfully uncovered 464 criminal cases related to energy throughout 2026. Speaking during the 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony at the Brimob training centre in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday, he stated that a total of 594 suspects had been named in connection with these cases. Authorities also seized various pieces of evidence, including 669,000 litres of diesel, 80,000 litres of pertalite, and 30,000 LPG canisters of various sizes, with the estimated prevention of state financial losses exceeding Rp756 billion. Among the most prominent cases uncovered was the misuse of transporting 120,000 litres of subsidised biodiesel, where evidence included one tanker ship, two Self-Propelled Oil Barges, and seven transporter trucks. The task force also played a role in uncovering various criminal acts related to strategic commodities such as rice, cooking oil, LPG, and subsidised fuels. Throughout 2026, the task force undertook various measures to maintain the availability of staple goods for the public, including clarifying the operations of 173 palm oil companies suspected of purchasing fresh fruit bunches at unreasonable prices.
