Jakarta - Police have uncovered a new finding in the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS).

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanudin, stated that two of the four perpetrators are suspected of also being hit by the hazardous liquid during the execution of their action. This suspicion is based on the results of field investigations.

“It is suspected that it hit parts of their bodies, so the two of them tried to clean it with mineral water,” Iman explained during a press conference on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Additionally, the perpetrators were seen opening their shirts and leaving a red T-shirt at the location.

Previously, Andrie Yunus was doused with acid by unidentified persons (OTK) on Thursday night (12/3/2026).

Coordinator of KontraS’s Working Body, Dimas Bagus Arya, explained that the incident occurred around 23:37 WIB when Andrie was riding a motorbike in the Jalan Salemba I–Talang area, Senen, Central Jakarta.

While passing by, two perpetrators riding a motorbike suspected to be a Honda Beat model from 2016 to 2021 approached the victim from the opposite direction on Jalan Talang (Talang Bridge).

The perpetrator acting as the driver was wearing a white-blue combination T-shirt, dark trousers suspected to be jeans material, and a black helmet.

One of the perpetrators then splashed the liquid suspected to be acid towards the victim, hitting parts of Andrie’s body.

As a result of the attack, Andrie suffered burns on his right and left hands, face, chest, and eyes.
