Police Transfer Little Aresha Daycare Abuse Case Files to Prosecutor's Office
Police have transferred the case files concerning the child abuse incident at Little Ares_ha Daycare in Yogyakarta to the prosecutor’s office. Investigators are currently examining several witnesses to complete the files in accordance with instructions from the prosecution.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at Polresta Jogja, Commissioner Riski Adrian, stated that the transfer of files involving 13 suspects was conducted on Tuesday (2/6). “Moving forward, we will coordinate with the Public Prosecutor for the next stages of the legal process,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Police are also continuing to develop the case, including investigating potential corporate criminal violations involving the management of the educational institution. Furthermore, the flow of funds within the daycare’s management is being scrutinised to determine the possible involvement of other parties responsible for the institution’s operation.
“We are committed to overseeing the investigation process to the maximum extent to ensure all legal facts are revealed clearly, providing justice for the victims and their families,” emphasised Commissioner Riski Adrian.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) at Polresta Yogyakarta, Inspector Apri Sawitri, explained that investigators have examined 152 witnesses to date. Additional witnesses are still being interrogated to complete the supplementary information requested by the prosecutors.
“The investigation process is ongoing. We are currently completing several additional pieces of information requested by the Public Prosecutor and awaiting the results of psychological assessments and medical examinations (visum), which will serve as evidence in this case,” explained Inspector Apri.
Previously, 13 individuals had been named as suspects and detained in relation to the alleged child abuse at Little Aresha Daycare. The Yogyakarta Police Chief, Commissioner Eva Guna Pandia, revealed that all 13 suspects are female. They include DK (51), AP (42), FN (30), NF (26), Lis (34), EN (26), SRm (54), DR (32), HP (47), ZA (30), SRj (50), DO (31), and DM (28).
“The first is DK, the Chairperson of the Foundation. The second is AP, the school principal. The other eleven individuals acted as caregivers,” explained Pandia during a press conference at the Jogja Police Headquarters on Monday (27/4) afternoon.
