Jakarta — The Head of the Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho has warned logistics transport entrepreneurs not to operate over-dimension vehicles during the 2026 Ketupat Operation.

Meeting at the JTMC Jasa Marga building in Bekasi, West Java, early Saturday morning, he stated that based on CCTV observations conducted with Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and Jasa Marga Chief Executive Rivan A. Purwantono, over-dimension vehicles were still found passing through toll roads.

He urged entrepreneurs to prioritise the implementation of the Ketupat Operation, which aims to secure safe travel during the 2026 Eid holiday exodus.

“The Ketupat Operation is a humanitarian operation focused on safety and smooth traffic flow. This is a matter of worship that we hope to achieve,” he said.

“The Minister has ordered strict enforcement. So, we may issue fines, we may detain drivers, we may impound vehicles. We are prepared with all these alternatives,” he added.

The government has implemented operational restrictions on freight transport during the Eid travel period on 13-29 March 2026 to ensure smooth holiday traffic flow.

“Freight transport operational restrictions during the Eid travel period are implemented continuously from 13 March 2026 at 12:00 local time until 29 March 2026 at 24:00 local time,” said the Directorate General of Land Transport at the Transport Ministry, Aan Suhanan.

However, goods distribution may still be carried out using two-axle vehicles, except for mineral products such as soil, sand, stone, mining products, and building materials such as steel, cement, and timber.

Freight vehicles exempted from restrictions or permitted to operate with three or more axles include those transporting fuel and gas, livestock, fertiliser, and disaster relief supplies.

Additionally, essential goods may be transported provided that the vehicles used do not exceed the payload and dimensional limits specified in a contract or agreement between the cargo owner and the transport entrepreneur.
