The Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) has scheduled a renewed interrogation of comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono over a case of alleged insult to Toraja adat. The questioning is set for Monday (9 March).

“Next week, Monday indeed (Pandji is being summoned),” said Kombes Rizki Agung Prakoso, head of Sub-Directorate I of Dittipidsiber, to reporters on Friday (6 March 2026).

Investigators had previously questioned Pandji in the case. Pandji was questioned in his capacity as a witness.

Earlier, Bareskrim’s Cybercrime Director Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji stated that the probe into the alleged insult to Toraja adat related to Pandji Pragiwaksono’s content continues even though the customary court has concluded. The police will consider the process Pandji has undergone in the customary court.

“To date, there have been 14 witnesses and nine experts examined in the case. Including the admin of Pandji’s YouTube channel with the initials SB.”

“So the case progress for Pandji is that 14 witnesses and 9 experts have been questioned. Yesterday there was the examination of his admin to complete the ongoing inquiry and prosecution,” Himawan told reporters on Thursday (26 February).

Asked about the customary court Pandji has undergone, Himawan said it will be considered as part of the deliberation to determine the next directions of the investigation.

“So later we will see what it ends up like after further examinations following his Toraja adat hearing. We will study first what elements may fit, and only then will we conclude in the deliberation,” he explained.

He did not rule out the possibility that authorities will question Toraja leaders who conducted the adat trial against Pandji as material for the deliberation.

Himawan explained that the case of alleged insult to the Toraja people’s funeral rites has moved to the investigation stage. However, he ensured that Pandji’s status remains that of a witness.
