Police to Question Ruben Onsu in Fraud Case on Friday

South Jakarta Metropolitan Police have scheduled the questioning of celebrity Ruben Onsu as a suspect in an alleged fraud and embezzlement case on Friday (28/8).

“The summons for the suspect’s examination is on Friday, 28 August 2026,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Iskandarsyah to reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday (25/8).

However, it cannot yet be confirmed whether Ruben Onsu will comply with the examination or not.

The case began when Ruben offered the victim, DM, the opportunity to invest in a product trading business.

“I will explain the chronology: the reported party (Ruben) has a business, and then offered the victim the chance to invest their funds,” said Iskandarsyah.

Ruben and DM subsequently entered into a cooperation agreement regarding the investment. Ruben is also alleged to have promised profits from the partnership.

However, by the agreed deadline, the victim had not received the promised returns.

The total losses suffered by the victim in the case are estimated to reach Rp3.5 billion.

Previously, South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head AKP Joko Adi explained that the case had progressed to the investigation stage since 25 April 2026, after investigators examined six witnesses, including experts.

Afterwards, police conducted a case review and named Ruben Onsu as a suspect.

“Then, a few days ago, a case review was held, during which the participants agreed that the reported party, RSO, should have his status changed to suspect,” said Joko.

Regarding the case against him, Ruben has stated that he wishes to pursue a peaceful resolution and is prepared to return the disputed funds.
