Police to Implement One-Way System to Ease Peak Return Traffic for Eid
On the 24th (March), which we estimate as the peak flow. However, from the 22nd and 23rd of March, we have already implemented strategic measures, whether on the 23rd we will carry out a local one-way as the first stage; of course, we will soon formulate it like that,” said the Head of the National Traffic Police Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, at the Korlantas Polri Building in Jakarta on Sunday.
In addition to the local one-way scheme planned in two stages, the police will also apply a national one-way scheme from KM 414 Kalikangkung, Semarang, to KM 70 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Tuesday (24/3).
“We will definitely implement the national one-way for the return flow, which is planned in accordance with the instructions from the National Police Chief, and yesterday I reported to the Minister of Transportation and the Director General of Jasa Marga and Jasa Raharja; the plan is that we will flag off for the return flow on the 24th,” he said.
Previously, the peak return flow for the Eid al-Fitr 2026 period or 1447 Hijriah was predicted to occur on 24 March 2026.
With the government’s work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, the Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, urged the public to adjust their return times home.
“You can return on the 25th, 26th, 27th up to the 29th (March) so that this peak flow can be spread across each day,” he said.
This arrangement, he said, is solely to provide convenience and comfort for all members of the public returning to their respective homes.
