Police to Hold Reconstruction at 6 Locations Where Taufik Hidayat Confined and Tortured YTR

The Directorate of PPA and PPO of the West Java Regional Police will hold a reconstruction of the confinement and abuse case involving suspect Taufik Hidayat (30) and his victim YTR (29). Director of PPA and PPO of the West Java Regional Police, Commissioner Rumi, stated that the reconstruction is being conducted to ascertain the sequence of events that occurred. “To adjust and prove what actually happened. We can see the complete sequence of events. Today we will carry out a reconstruction related to the incident,” Rumi said when met at the West Java Regional Police headquarters on Thursday (2/7). Rumi explained that the reconstruction is being held at the West Java Regional Police headquarters. He cited security considerations as the reason for not holding the reconstruction at the actual crime scenes. “There are several crime scenes. We also look at the situation of the locations. If there were only one crime scene, perhaps it could be done there. However, because there are several crime scenes, we are considering security factors, especially security around the locations. Additionally, some of the locations are boarding houses. We also have to consider the security and comfort of the boarding house owners. That is the main consideration. There are several boarding house owners whose security we also need to pay attention to,” he said. “There are six locations related to today’s reconstruction,” he stated. The reconstruction was scheduled to be held at 09:00 WIB behind closed doors. However, as of now, the reconstruction has not yet begun. Taufik Hidayat was seen arriving at the PPA and PPO building of the West Java Regional Police. He was wearing a detainee’s uniform and a cap on his head. He did not say much when journalists asked him several questions. “Alhamdulillah, I am well. Insyaallah, I am ready,” he said.
