Police to hand over Elize to prosecutors

JAKARTA (JP): City police detectives are scheduled to hand over bomb suspect Elize Maria Tuwahatu and the dossier on her to state prosecutors next week.

City police chief of detectives Sr. Comr. Harry Montolalu said the final touches were being made to the dossier.

"Next week, we hand over the dossier and Elize to state prosecutors," Harry announced on Wednesday.

Arrested for the possession of three bombs at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah recreation park in East Jakarta on Jan. 19, Elize made headlines when she told police that it was fugitive Hutomo "Tommy" Mandala Putra who gave her the bombs.

The arrest of Elize on Jan. 19 this year was made possible due to telephone calls made to the East Jakarta Police and the Attorney General's Office by 38-year-old psychic Agung Yulianto, known to his clients as Ki Joko Bodo.

Joko, who Elize learned about from a mystery magazine, had reportedly been assigned to plant the bombs by Elize.

Unknown to Elize, Joko contacted police and informed them that Tommy had taken out death contracts for Attorney General Marzuki Darusman and Minister of Industry and Trade Luhut Panjaitan.

In a separate development, Harry told reporters on Wednesday that police had circulated sketches of four bomb suspects to Greater Jakarta police stations and substations.

"They are sketches of three men and one woman. Two of them are linked to the Christmas Eve bombings, and the other two to the grenades found at Lemah Abang Station in Bekasi," Harry said.

Nineteen people were killed in bomb blasts in several major cities on Christmas Eve. National Police managed to defuse 21 of the 54 bombs placed in close proximity to or within churches.

In January, 15-year-old herder Ahmad Taufik became a national hero when he discovered three grenades lodged in the middle of and under railway tracks between Lemah Abang and Kedung Gede railway stations. (ylt)
