The accident occurred on Monday night (27/4) and involved the Argo Bromo Anggrek train colliding with a Commuter Line KRL at East Bekasi Station. The incident caused 16 deaths and 90 injuries.

The event began when an electric Green SM taxi allegedly suffered a short circuit and stopped in the middle of the tracks near the station. The taxi was then hit by a KRL travelling from Cikarang to Jakarta, causing the train to stop on the line.

Shortly after, another KRL stopped at East Bekasi Station due to the incident was struck by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train coming from Jakarta, triggering a chain collision.
