The West Java Provincial Government has taken firm action regarding the use of public facilities. Governor Dedi Mulyadi has officially banned the use of provincial roads for private interests, including as locations for wedding parties or other community celebrations. The prohibition is set out in an official circular from the Road and Bridge Management Unit (UPTD) of Service Area VI, under the West Java Highways and Spatial Planning Agency (DBMPR), which has been submitted to the Indramayu District Police. In the letter, signed by UPTD Head Boy Bob Agustan Nyinang, the provincial government requests police cooperation to intensively educate the public about the new rule. Responding to the instruction, Indramayu Police Head of Community Guidance Unit, First Inspector Tasim, confirmed that his team is ready to move quickly to disseminate the information to all levels of the community. “We have received the circular. As a follow-up, we will immediately go into the community to socialise this prohibition,” Tasim said on Saturday (20/6/2026). Tasim expressed support for the governor’s policy, stating that the practice of blocking public roads for party tents is detrimental to many parties.
