The police are set to deploy a Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team to investigate the fire at the Pullman Hotel, located on Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. “For the time being, the exact cause of the fire is unknown. The forensic team will be deployed to the site,” stated the Chief of Grogly Petamburan Police, AKP Reza Aditya, when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday.

According to Reza, the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) team from the West Jakarta Metro Police has already arrived at the scene for an initial inspection. “The Inafis team from the Police has been to the location. The fire broke out at the Pullman Hotel on Saturday morning. Syaiful Kahfi from the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department (Gulkarmat) confirmed that crews responded swiftly after receiving the report at 07:59 WIB. “Officers were dispatched just one minute after the report was received,” said Syafil.

A total of 14 fire engines and 70 personnel were deployed to the scene to combat the flames. The firefighting operation, which began intensively at 08:05 WIB, managed to localise the fire within a short period. “The situation at the fire site is currently under control, and officers have been conducting cooling processes since 08:15 WIB to ensure no remaining hotspots could trigger a secondary fire,” said Syaiful.

As of the time of reporting, the status of the handling at the Pullman Hotel area remains in the yellow category, with officers remaining on-site to complete the extinguishing process. There are currently no official details regarding the exact cause of the fire or the total material losses resulting from the incident.
