Police to Cross-Check Findings in Acid Attack Case Against KontraS Activist with TNI
Police have revealed the initials of two executors in the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, identified as BHC and MAK. Police will collaborate the results of these findings with the TNI, which has announced that four of its personnel were involved in the acid attack.
“Of course, we from the Metro Jaya Police and later together with the TNI will also collaborate on findings from investigation facts as well as prosecution,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Iman Imannudin, at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Asep stated that Polri and TNI are committed to uncovering this case. He said this commitment aligns with the directives and orders of President Prabowo Subianto.
“We are confident that we all share a commitment to uncovering this case as clearly as possible. So we all have a commitment, both TNI and Polri, in line with Mr President’s directives to uncover this case transparently, based on legal facts obtained from the investigation and prosecution processes carried out by each,” he said.
Four TNI Personnel Detained
Previously, the TNI Military Police Corps detained four TNI members suspected of carrying out the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The TNI Military Police Corps has also examined the perpetrators.
“Carrying out activities to file a police report, possibly from the victim witness later. Then carrying out temporary detention of the four suspects,” said the TNI Military Police Corps Commander, Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto, in a press conference at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
The TNI Military Police Corps will also submit a request for a visum to RSCM. “We will submit a request for visum et repertum to RSCM,” he continued.
The suspects have now been secured and are undergoing examination. They will be detained at the Jakarta Military District Command.
“The suspects have been secured and we have conducted examinations at the TNI Military Police Corps. For the detention location, we will carry out detention entrusted to the Jakarta Military District Command; there is super maximum security detention,” he said.
The four perpetrators are initialled NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. The TNI Military Police Corps is conducting further investigation.
“This now, the four suspected suspects have been secured at the TNI Military Police Corps for further investigation to the prosecution level,” said Yusri.
The TNI is still investigating the motive for the acid attack carried out by the perpetrators on Andrie Yunus. The perpetrators have been designated as suspects.
“The article applied to the four suspected perpetrators is temporarily Article 467 of the Criminal Code, with paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalties are outlined there, some four years, seven years,” explained Yusri.
