Police have revealed details of the escape of four suspected perpetrators in the acid attack against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus on Salemba Street, Senen, Central Jakarta. The perpetrators reportedly changed clothes following the attack.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Iman Imannudin, stated that the four suspects were travelling on two motorcycles. The suspects dispersed in different directions following the attack on Thursday, 12 March at 20:37 WIB.

He explained that one motorcycle carrying unknown suspects 1 and 2 fled against traffic on Salemba Street towards Pasar Senen. The suspects then proceeded to Kramat Raya Street, Tugu Tani, towards Gondangdia Station and subsequently towards South Jakarta.

“Then one vehicle carrying suspects 3 and 4, from the incident location did not turn around, but continued straight towards Pramuka Sari 2 Street, subsequently towards Matraman, then monitored via CCTV towards the Jatinegara area, and subsequently to Otto Iskandar Dinata Street, East Jakarta,” Iman told journalists on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

In CCTV recordings combined with digital processing, it was also found that one of the suspects had changed clothes during the escape. The suspects dispersed towards Kalibata and then to Bogor.

“After the incident, one suspect is suspected of changing clothes before continuing his journey in flight, and the results of communication network analysis show the suspects subsequently dispersed towards the Kalibata area, Ragunan, and the Bogor area,” he said.

Iman added that police are currently pursuing the suspected perpetrators. The investigation remains ongoing.

“We are continuing to gather legal evidence based on CCTV analysis and communication networks that we have obtained,” he explained.
