The exotic charm of the Kampar River captivated tourists once again through the Pelalawan Boat Racing 2026. The boat racing event ran successfully thanks to security support from the Pelalawan Police, which fully backs the advancement of ecotourism in Pelalawan Regency. The event was held in the Kuala Terusan Tourism Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, on Friday, 10 July 2026. On that occasion, AKBP John Louis invited the community to support positive activities by creating a conducive security and public order situation. “Let us maintain security and order together so that the event runs smoothly and has an economic impact on the Kuala Terusan community,” he added. The opening ceremony proceeded successfully, beginning with the singing of the national anthem ‘Indonesia Raya’, a prayer, and speeches from the Chairman of the Committee, the Head of the Pelalawan Youth and Sports Office, and the Regent. At the peak of the event, the Regent and Forkopimda officials officially opened the Pelalawan Boat Racing. The event was also enlivened by the presence of a guest star, ‘Mama Racing’. The race was divided into three classes: the 500 cc to 550 cc engine class with a maximum 94 mm modified piston, the Ketinting Nelayan class with a 6.5 HP - 8 HP engine and a maximum 75 mm standard piston, and the Mixed Engine class with a maximum 1 piston 95 mm.
