JAKARTA: City Police summoned 12 people on Friday as witnesses of a violent attack conducted by the Betawi Brotherhood Forum (FBR) at the National Commission for Human Rights (Komnas HAM) on March 28.

Among the witnesses were women and children.

The 12 people were among participants of a protest rally staged by the Urban Poor Consortium (UPC) who were beaten up by FBR, who also searched for UPC chairwoman Wardah Hafidz.

They were accompanied by lawyers from the Indonesian Legal Aid and Human Rights Association (PBHI), the Peoples Legal Aid Institute (LBH Rakyat), Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH Jakarta) and the Women's Association for Legal Aid (LBH Apik).

Head of the police special crime division Adj. Sr. Comr. Raja Erizman said the summons was to develop and reinstate the involvement of FBR's member.
