Police Summon Suspect in Depok Neighbour Terror Case Today

Police are investigating a case of alleged vandalism against a resident’s home terrorised by a neighbour in Pancoran Mas, Depok City, West Java. The suspected perpetrator is scheduled to be examined by police today. “A summons has been sent to the reported party to provide a statement, scheduled for tomorrow (today), Monday 20 July 2026,” said AKP Hendra, Head of Public Relations for the Depok Metro Police, to reporters on Monday (20/7/2026). Meanwhile, the complainant or victim has been examined earlier by the police. The victim was questioned along with five other witnesses who were aware of the terror incident. “The complainant has been questioned along with five witnesses who know about the incident,” he said. Hendra stated the victim filed a police report regarding the terror incident on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. Police are currently gathering evidence related to the terror. “Investigators have conducted a crime scene investigation to collect evidence,” he said. The home of the Azis Suraji family in Pancoran Mas, Depok, became the target of terror by their neighbour. The terror has led the Azis family to sell their house. The neighbour’s terror went viral on social media. From circulating CCTV footage, a man was seen throwing a helmet at the neighbour’s house belonging to the Azis family. Before throwing the helmet, the man was seen pacing back and forth on a motorcycle in front of the victim’s house fence. On a different day, the same man was seen dumping rubbish at the victim’s house. Several residents tried to intervene, but a commotion ensued. Suraji’s child, Novita (29), recounted that her neighbour frequently caused trouble in front of their house. Novita said her house fence was damaged after being kicked by the neighbour on Wednesday (15/7). “That (the fence damage) was just on the 15th recently. That was new. (Using) a foot, kicked,” said Novita when met at her home on Friday (17/7). Novita claimed her family was also once terrorised by the neighbour who brought a machete during the last Eid celebration. Novita explained her family is also verbally harassed almost every day. “Even during Eid, we were once threatened with a machete. The family was gathered at home, and he brought a machete. There are many living witnesses, my family members are still alive. Unfortunately, there was no CCTV at the time,” said Novita. “As for verbal abuse, it happens almost every day,” she added.
