Police submit dossier on drug suspect

JAKARTA: Police submitted to the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office
on Thursday the dossier on Ibra Azhari, alias Ibrahim Salahudin,
the brother of actress Ayu Azhari, who has been charged with the
possession of drugs.

"We completed the dossier on April 29," city police spokesman
Sr. Comr. Prasetyo said.

Ibra was arrested at Wisma Bumi Rajawali in Pancoran, South
Jakarta, in February. During the arrest police confiscated 230
ecstasy pills, 16.7 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal
methamphetamine), 8.5 grams of cocaine and an electronic scale.

Ibra served several months in jail after he was arrested for
drug possession on Aug. 31, 2000, at a house on Jl. Batu Merah in
South Jakarta.

There were rumors at the time that Ibra had been arrested
along with a son of Vice President Hamzah Haz. These rumors were
strongly denied by Hamzah. --JP
