Police strengthen partnership with online motorcycle taxi drivers and Bekasi residents on Police Service Day
The Bekasi City Metro Police commemorated Police Service Day 2026 by engaging various elements of society, from online motorcycle taxi (ojol) communities, students, volunteers, to media personnel in a ceremony in Bekasi City, West Java, on Friday.
Bekasi City Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Putu Kholis Aryana acted directly as the ceremony inspector.
The presence of these various community elements affirmed the spirit of togetherness in commemorating the journey and service of the Indonesian National Police to the nation and state.
Putu Kholis said Police Service Day is an important moment to remember the history of the struggle of First Class Police Inspector Moehammad Jasin, who proclaimed the Indonesian Police on 21 August 1945 in Surabaya.
“The fighting spirit of our predecessors must continue to be kept alive through sincere, professional service that is increasingly close to the community,” he said in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.
As a form of appreciation, the Bekasi City Metro Police presented certificates of appreciation to representatives of the ojol community and Burgeract volunteers for their active participation in maintaining neighbourhood security and concern for the safety of road users.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, assessed that the involvement of community elements in the Police Service Day moment reflects the importance of strategic partnership in maintaining public security and order.
“The Police cannot work alone. Partnership with communities, students, volunteers, the media, and all elements of society is an important strength in creating a safe and conducive situation,” said Budi.
Budi added that this historical commemoration should serve as a reminder for all police personnel to continue improving the quality of service and maintaining public trust.
“The fighting spirit must be reflected in the way the Police are present, serve, and provide real benefits to the community. Public trust must continue to be maintained through the execution of professional duties oriented towards the interests of the community,” he said.
