Police Strategy to Escort Thousands of Workers to Jakarta for May Day, Affixing Coloured Stickers on Bus Convoy
Sukabumi, VIVA – Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, has assured readiness for securing the movement of worker masses from West Java to Jakarta in commemoration of International Labour Day (May Day) 2026.
This was stated following a coordination meeting in the Cibadak area, Sukabumi Police Resort, with local police ranks, including representatives from the Resort Police Chief, Traffic Directorate Head, and Operations Section Head.
“We are currently in the West Java Regional Police area, specifically in Cibadak, Sukabumi Police Resort. We held a coordination meeting to prepare security for Labour Day,” said Agus.
He explained that the worker masses from West Java are divided into three destination groups: heading to Monas, the House of Representatives (DPR RI), and the Danantara area in Jakarta. All movements have been coordinated and will receive escorts from officers.
The distribution of vehicles and masses has also been arranged systematically, including the provision of markers in the form of coloured stickers on each bus convoy based on the origin region.
“From Central Java, the colour will be yellow; East Java red; West Java blue; and Banten green. This is to facilitate escorting in the field,” Agus stated.
Coordination has also been conducted with Jasa Marga to ensure smooth traffic flow during the departure process until arrival at the destination locations.
The movement of workers from West Java participating in the Mayday Fiesta 2026 at Monas is recorded at 92,257 people who will depart for Jakarta using 1,823 bus units.
To ensure the journey proceeds smoothly and safely, the escort is reinforced with 130 four-wheeled vehicles (R4) and 10 two-wheeled vehicles (R2) accompanying the convoy until arrival at the event location.
