Police Still Investigating Alleged Sexual Harassment Case Involving DPRD Serang City Member
Pandeglang Police are still delving into the alleged sexual harassment case committed by a member of the Serang City DPRD against a woman from Pandeglang. The police have completed examining the witnesses. “The investigation is still ongoing; we have just finished taking statements from the witnesses, and next we have scheduled to seek a legal opinion from a criminal law expert,” said Head of Criminal Investigation at Pandeglang Police, IPTU Alfian Yusuf, on Monday (27/4/2026). Alfian stated that several witnesses from SPPG kitchen volunteers, the victim, and the suspect were examined in this case. Next, the investigators will conduct a case review to determine whether there are criminal elements or not. “Next, we will carry out a case review to determine if this case meets the criminal elements or not,” he said. It is known that previously, a woman from Pandeglang Regency with initials NW (40) claimed to be a victim of sexual harassment. The victim claimed to have been harassed by a member of the Serang City DPRD. “The alleged perpetrator is a member of the Serang City DPRD,” said the victim’s family, Hermawan. The harassment case began when the victim and the alleged perpetrator discussed the rental costs for the Free Nutritious Meal Kitchen (MBG). After the conversation, the perpetrator suddenly committed sexual harassment. “After discussing the kitchen rental costs, the perpetrator carried out sexual harassment against the victim,” he revealed.
