Police Still Hunting Hit-and-Run Suspect in BSD Tangerang Amid Lack of Evidence and CCTV Footage

TANGERANG — A 33-year-old woman named Syola Syera Sebayang sustained serious injuries after being hit by a hit-and-run vehicle in BSD, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency.

South Tangerang Traffic Police Chief Danny Trisespianto Arief Sutarman stated the victim has filed a police report and the case is under investigation.

“For the sequence of events, we are still investigating due to the hit-and-run. There were no CCTV cameras in the vicinity, which we checked,” Danny told Kompas.com on Wednesday evening (27/5/2026).

However, officers have not found clear evidence pointing to the suspect’s vehicle.

“There was no paint left behind during the hit-and-run. So we suspect two possibilities: either the vehicle was black, or the impact caused the motorcycle’s colour to appear darkened,” he explained.

He added that based on limited-quality CCTV footage, police have not detected any collision marks on the suspected vehicle.

“Not a street race. At night, area security places zigzag water barriers there,” he said.

According to police, the accident occurred when the victim was riding a motorcycle home from the traffic light at Matera Residences in Gading Serpong, heading towards QBIG BSD City via BSD Raya Road.

Upon reaching the Northrich Ruko area, she allegedly attempted to turn around before the collision.

As a result, she suffered a dislocation and fracture in her leg and is scheduled for surgery.

“From the handling unit’s report, she has a dislocation and leg fracture,” he said.

Danny added that police have assisted the victim with administrative procedures for her Jasa Raharja claim.
