The Head of Criminal Investigation of North Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Awaludin Kanur, stated that the victim, identified by the initials EY (28), was kidnapped and held captive before being mobbed and subsequently declared dead at a hospital.

“According to the autopsy results, the victim suffered brain haemorrhage due to blunt force trauma,” said AKBP Awaludin Kanur in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Awaludin explained that, based on statements, the victim EY was picked up by perpetrators YG and RA from his residence. After being abducted from his home, the victim was taken to two different locations.

The two perpetrators took the victim to YG’s house and assaulted him there. The victim was then taken to a second location, the residence of JAT, where he was also assaulted.

Afterwards, the victim was intended to be moved to another location, but he began experiencing haemorrhaging and seizures. The victim was subsequently abandoned at the location where he was found, in the Jalan Ampera area, Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Sunday (6/9).

The victim was found in critical condition and rushed to the hospital. After receiving treatment for three days, EY passed away.

“We are still conducting the investigation process to uncover this case, focusing on the charges of assault, mobbing, and kidnapping,” he said.

Previously, the North Jakarta Metro Police uncovered the kidnapping and mobbing case that killed the man identified as EY (28).

“Three suspects have been detained, namely YG, RA, and JAT. One perpetrator is suspected to be the main actor,” said the Deputy Chief of North Jakarta Metro Police, AKBT Rohman Yonky Dilatha, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Rohman stated that the kidnapping and mobbing incident was reported on 21 September 2026, and officers conducted investigations based on community information and social media, eventually managing to arrest three of the six individuals suspected to be involved.

“The motive was related to pawning a motorcycle. The victim was asked to pawn the perpetrator’s motorcycle, but the victim did not provide the money to the perpetrator. The value was approximately Rp1 million to Rp1.5 million,” he said.
