Jakarta, VIVA – Police have found no evidence of civilian involvement in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, an activist with the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS).

Dirreskrimum of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, explained that his team had conducted an investigation into the case.

He stressed that the acid attack on Andrie Yunus was handed over to the TNI’s Puspom because of the involvement of TNI soldiers.

“We have already reported the handover process to Puspom, and up to the point of handover, we have not found any civilian involvement,” Iman said during a hearing with Commission III of the DPR RI on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

However, he stated that all law enforcement actions would always be based on legal facts obtained from the investigation process.

For this reason, he invited all parties to pray together for Andrie Yunus’s recovery so that he could return to his normal activities. He also thanked all parties for their input and corrections regarding the police.

“All input and corrections will serve as guidance and medicine for us to do better in serving the public, the nation, and the state,” he said.

It is known that four TNI soldiers were involved in the acid attack on the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus.

This was revealed by the Head of Puspom TNI, Major General (Mayjen) TNI Yusri Nuryanto. Yusri said he only received information about the alleged involvement of the four TNI soldiers on the morning of Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

“So this morning, I received from the TNI’s Denma Bais, four individuals suspected of carrying out the assault on Andrie Yunus,” Yusri said during a press conference on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

Yusri explained that the four TNI soldiers had been secured. His side is currently delving into the motive behind the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.

“So we are still investigating what the motive is from those four alleged perpetrators,” he stated.
