Police Solve 97 Labour Cases, Sahroni Says It Proves Commitment to Vulnerable Groups

Deputy Chairman of House Commission III Ahmad Sahroni has welcomed the efforts of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in consistently defending workers by resolving 97 labour cases worth hundreds of billions of rupiah. Sahroni said this fact proves that General Sigit serves vulnerable groups.

“It is very natural for labour elements to appreciate the Police Chief’s performance. During his tenure, Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo has indeed given attention and service to cases affecting vulnerable groups, such as workers, rural communities, and the lower-middle class,” Sahroni said when contacted on Sunday (26/7/2026).

He also asserted that this fact refutes the assumption that the police only work for the wealthy or moneyed entrepreneurs. He appreciated General Sigit’s performance.

“So the stigma that the police are only quick to serve cases involving rich people or big entrepreneurs with lots of money is clearly disproven by General Sigit’s performance,” he said.

The NasDem Party’s central board treasurer also encouraged workers who are still experiencing difficulties, discrimination by company superiors, or injustice regarding wages and contracts to be brave enough to report to the police. “They must be brave to report to the police, so that action can be taken immediately, don’t be afraid,” he added.

Previously, the President of the Confederation of All-Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, expressed gratitude to National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for consistently defending workers. He said the National Police’s Labour Desk has resolved many labour cases worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.

“Thank you also to the Police Chief for the Labour Desk, which has successfully resolved nearly 97 cases with a nominal value of hundreds of billions that can be delivered to the entitled workers,” Andi Gani said during the inauguration of the KBPBI joint secretariat in Tebet, South Jakarta, on Friday (24/7).

He therefore hopes the National Police’s Labour Desk will be maximised down to remote areas. He hopes the desk can benefit all workers in Indonesia.

“And we hope, Mr Police Chief, that the Labour Desks in the regions are also maximised to serve our fellow labour unions,” he hoped.
