Police seized several pieces of evidence related to plans for riots during the 2026 International Labour Day or May Day commemoration in front of the DPR building. One of them is a document outlining the planning and schedule for the riot action.

“We found documents planning to carry out riots. They have prepared for all of you here, clearly depicted, and you can also see it on the screen, the rundown,” said the Director of Reskrimum of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, during a press conference on Friday (1/5).

In the planning document, said Iman, it also depicts how their arrival route to the location would proceed. This includes the route they must take to escape and the items that must be prepared.

“It can be clearly seen that they have prepared the event rundown. So, hour by hour, they have prepared when they would carry out attacks or assaults, in the language here,” he continued.

“This has already been prepared by them. So, where they come from, then what the incident would be like, and where they must return. They have determined the gathering points,” said Iman.

Iman mentioned that they seized communication devices. From that evidence, conversations were found regarding plans to incite divisions among workers’ masses.

In addition, from those communication devices, plans to carry out provocations and attacks on security apparatus were also found.

“And they would also use social media to carry out provocation efforts so that more ferocious masses could join or to incite the anger of other masses. And as we mentioned earlier, they have created a timed rundown for when they want to carry out attacks or create riots and damage,” he stated.

Not only that, police also seized other evidence in the form of empty bottles and trigger cloths for making Molotov cocktails, petrol, concrete nails, sharp weapons, up to cash amounting to Rp10,961,100.

Previously, Metro Jaya Police secured 101 people suspected of planning to cause riots during the International Labour Day or May Day commemoration in front of the DPR building on Friday (1/5).

“Currently, 101 people are providing information to us,” said the Director of Reskrimum of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, during a press conference on Friday.

Iman explained that the hundreds of people secured have ages ranging from 20-35 years and most of them are from outside Jakarta. Iman also revealed that the hundreds of people were secured around the DPR building area.

Iman stated that the hundreds of people would be immediately sent home after completing their statements to investigators.

“After the provision of that information is complete, they will immediately return to their respective homes. We repeat, after they finish providing information to us regarding the important matters we need, insyaallah they will immediately return to their respective homes,” he said.
