Police Shoot Dead Executor of Bripka Arya Supena's Murder, Seize Homemade Firearm
Lampung, VIVA – The escape of Bahroni, also known as Roni, ended tragically. The man, who is suspected of being the mastermind and executor of the shooting of Bripka Arya, was shot dead by a joint police force from the Lampung Police during an attempted arrest in the Teluk Hantu area, Pagar Jaya Village, Punduh Pidada District, Pesawaran Regency.
The arrest took place dramatically on Friday morning, May 15, 2026, at around 05:15 WIB. Police said the suspect put up fierce resistance by pointing a homemade firearm at officers.
The Chief of Lampung Police, Inspector General of Police Helfi Assegaf, said that officers were forced to take firm action because the situation was deemed dangerous to officers in the field.
“When the arrest was about to be carried out, the suspect actively resisted, endangering the joint team by using a homemade revolver firearm against officers. The team took firm and measured action, resulting in the suspect being killed on the spot, with evidence of one revolver firearm and one knife,” he said on Friday, May 15, 2026.
From the arrest location, police secured several pieces of evidence allegedly related to the criminal group’s actions. These include sharp weapons, firearms, ammunition, and a motorcycle suspected of being stolen.
One of the pieces of evidence seized was a handgun belonging to a police officer, a HS 9 mm pistol with serial number A204161, 14 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one spent bullet casing, two motorcycles, a helmet, a cell phone, and the suspect’s homemade firearm.
Police also found a green Honda CRF motorcycle with a frame and engine number that had been ground down to remove the vehicle’s identification.
The body of Bahroni was then taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Lampung Police for further processing. Although he is dead, police confirmed that Bahroni played a central role in the motorcycle theft network.
Based on the examination of other perpetrators, Bahroni is said to have played the role of pilot and executor in motorcycle theft in several areas of Lampung.
Previously, police had also arrested another suspect named Hamli in Jabung District, East Lampung, on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The arrest of Hamli was also tense because the suspect allegedly resisted officers and was eventually shot in the leg.
