Police shoot dead alleged drug dealer
JAKARTA: South Jakarta Police shot dead the suspected head of a drug syndicate operating in Java and Sumatra on Friday morning in Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
The police also arrested four suspected syndicate members and seized 300 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine).
South Jakarta Police detectives chief Comr. Kusdiantoro said officers were forced to shoot Sutarman Sutrisno, 40, twice in the back when the suspect attempted to flee.
Kusdiantoro also identified the four suspected syndicate members as Iwan Setyawan, 27, Mumu, 28, Deni Jauhari, 31, and Nuramdani, 34.
"We had tried to net this syndicate five times before but they always managed to escape," said Kusdiantoro, who is the son-in- law of National Police chief Gen. Da'i Bachtiar. -- JP
