Police arrested several individuals found carrying sharp weapons and narcotics during a large-scale Operasi Cipta Kondisi (Cipkon) in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

‘During the operation, officers arrested two motorcyclists found carrying two knife-type sharp weapons,’ said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Regional Public Relations Chief AKP Joko Adi in a statement on Friday.

Joko said the operation, held at the Al Azhar traffic light area on Sisingamangaraja Road, was directly led by South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Pol I Putu Yuni Setiawan.

The operation involved joint personnel from the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the military (TNI), and relevant agencies to prevent street crimes such as aggravated theft (curat), robbery with violence (curas), motor vehicle theft (curanmor), riots, highway robbery (begal), and narcotics trafficking.

Prior to the raid, all joint personnel attended a briefing to receive technical instructions for field operations. Subsequently, officers conducted checks on two- and four-wheeled vehicles passing through the area.

Officers also arrested an individual found carrying prohibited drugs riklona, alprazolam, and trihexyphenidyl. The suspect was detained by the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation.

In addition to enforcement actions, officers issued warnings to riders not wearing helmets, without driving licences (SIM), and vehicles missing rear-view mirrors or registration plates.

Officers also seized two motorcycles lacking vehicle documentation and other required equipment.

A total of 109 joint personnel participated in the operation, comprising 90 from the police, 14 from the military, and five from the municipal police (Satpol PP).

The operation was conducted as a preventive measure to maintain public safety and social order.
