Police seize two stolen cars

The North Jakarta police precinct nabbed two men believed to be dealing in stolen cars, and seized two cars from them.

The suspects identified only as YS, 37, and Dd, 36, were detained on Monday, Sinar Pagi reported quoting police sources.

The cars, a Toyota Kijang and a Daihatsu Zebra mini bus, strongly believed to have been stolen by a car theft ring, were seized by the police during a recent raid in Surakarta, Central Java.

According to police, YS and Dd are members of the syndicate whose leader, Odang, 34, was shot to death by police following a chase in the hilly district of Puncak, West Java, last week. (bas)
