Police Seize Thousands of Prescription Drugs in North Jakarta's Pademangan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pademangan Police Sector in North Jakarta successfully seized 1,212 tablets of schedule G prescription drugs, namely tramadol and eximer, as well as 0.95 grams of narcotics in the form of methamphetamine from a man with the initials AT. “The suspect was arrested when his motorbike was stopped by officers and searched,” said Pademangan Police Chief AKP Daniel Dirgala in Jakarta on Thursday. He explained that after arresting the suspect AT, officers conducted further investigations and successfully raided the suspect’s house located outside the Pademangan area. “We found schedule G drugs at the suspect’s house. The suspect sold them to customers online,” he stated. The evidence seized from suspect AT consisted of 612 eximer tablets and 600 tramadol tablets. The suspect planned to distribute the prescription drugs in the Pademangan area, but the effort was thwarted by the police before the drugs could circulate in the community. “AT was going to distribute them in the Pademangan area. Praise be to God, we managed to stop it before they circulated,” said Daniel. During interrogation, suspect AT admitted to purchasing the schedule G drugs from an online site. He then resold them online at a price of Rp50,000 per strip. “The case is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pademangan Police Sector,” he added. Daniel stated that his side would conduct routine patrols on suspected shops. “We urge the public not to buy them. The public is asked to provide information if there are any shops (selling prescription drugs) that are open,” he said.
