Serang Police’s narcotics unit seized synthetic narcotics in liquid form and raw materials worth nearly IDR 1 billion after arresting a suspect with the initials NS (31) in Bogor Regency, West Java. Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan stated on Thursday that the suspect was arrested at his residence in Parakan Jaya Village, Kemang District, on Monday (29/6), following an investigation into a suspicious package at a courier service in the Serang area. “Upon inspection, a bottle of synthetic narcotic spray was found, sent from the Bogor area with an unclear recipient address,” he said. Acting on the sender’s identity, the narcotics team led by Iptu Gilang Erlangga moved to Bogor and successfully apprehended the suspect. During a search of the suspect’s house and rented room, officers discovered a large quantity of evidence. “Officers found 84 small bottles and 80 large bottles containing synthetic liquid, as well as 28 packages of synthetic narcotic seeds. In total, the value of this evidence reaches almost IDR 1 billion,” he explained. Head of the Serang Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Bondan Rahadiansyah, added that the narcotics were marketed at high prices. A small bottle of the synthetic liquid was sold for IDR 1.5 million, a large bottle for IDR 3 million, and a package of the synthetic seeds for around IDR 20 million. Based on the examination, the suspect admitted to obtaining the goods from someone he knew through social media Instagram. The police have now identified the supplier and are in pursuit. “We have identified the owner of the Instagram account. The team is continuing to develop the case to hunt down the other perpetrator who is the main supplier in this network,” Bondan asserted. The suspect and all evidence have been secured at the Serang Police headquarters for further investigation.
