Police Seize Numerous Whip Pink Gas Canisters in North Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) on Friday (24 July) moved a number of Whip Pink branded N2O gas canisters from a warehouse in Pademangan, North Jakarta, to the National Police Brimob warehouse in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, for seizure.
The transfer was carried out to secure evidence in the case of illegal Whip Pink gas production uncovered by the National Police.
Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, explained in Jakarta on Saturday that the transfer process had been carried out by his personnel since Friday (24 July) morning.
He said they had been at the warehouse location to load all the evidence onto trucks.
“At 09.15 Western Indonesia Time, all Whip Pink canisters of various sizes, production machines and other supporting equipment for producing N2O gas were loaded onto the trucks,” he said.
Police recorded 71 seized items, ranging from gas canisters to supporting equipment used to make the Whip Pink product.
After being loaded onto trucks, personnel immediately transported all the evidence to the Brimob warehouse. Personnel arrived at the location at 16.40 Western Indonesia Time and began moving the evidence into the Brimob Cikeas warehouse.
“By 18.15 Western Indonesia Time, all the evidence had been unloaded and placed in the storage warehouse. It was then locked and guarded by Brimob Kelapa Dua Cikeas personnel,” Eko said.
He assured that all the evidence would be tightly guarded by Brimob Cikeas personnel.
It is known that in April 2026, the Dittipidnarkoba of Bareskrim Polri successfully uncovered a factory producing N2O gas under the Whip Pink brand in Jakarta.
From the interrogation of nine witnesses secured during the operation, it was revealed that the producer, PT SSS, did not yet hold legality or BPOM distribution permits relating to the production and sale of the Whip Pink N2O gas product.
In addition, it was found that the owners of the production site and Whip Pink shipping warehouse were AH, SC and JH. The Whip Pink warehouses are located in 10 cities, with 16 warehouse points ranging from Jakarta, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
During the investigation process, the Dittipidnarkoba questioned several social media influencers who had used Whip Pink. One influencer with the initials AM admitted to experiencing temporary paralysis.
Eko said AM lost control of parts of his body, particularly his legs, while being rushed to hospital.
According to him, this was consistent with expert testimony from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the effects of direct N2O gas use without strict supervision by medical professionals, namely that it can result in peripheral neuropathy.
He continued that the disease involves damage to the peripheral nerves outside the brain, with symptoms including numbness, tingling and loss of coordination.
“To this day, AM is still in the recovery process from the effects strongly suspected to have been caused by the use of the Whip Pink branded N2O gas product,” Eko said.
