Police Seize Mysterious Safes from De Clan Restaurant Linked to Jampidsus Guarding

The Head of the Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipidkor), Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, explained that the search of the De Clan Signature restaurant and Koin Money Changer was part of a series of similar police actions at eight separate locations in Jakarta and West Java. The searches are also suspected to be linked to the bolstering of Indonesian Military (TNI) troops at the residence of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Andriansyah. Both search locations are on Jalan Cipete, Cilandak, South Jakarta, and the operation has been ongoing since Wednesday afternoon. Totok stated that the restaurant search is related to a joint police investigation into a coal governance corruption case. During the searches at De Clan restaurant and Koin Money Changer, investigators found evidence in the form of safes. The safes contained cash in US and Singapore dollar denominations, though police have not yet calculated the total value of the currency found. The investigation is also connected to recent power blackout events in several regions. Totok added that the police are currently executing a joint investigation scheme with the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate to handle corruption and money laundering cases. Beyond the corruption case related to the power blackouts, the joint police investigation is also probing corruption cases linked to ASABRI and Jiwasraya from the 2020 to 2025 period, as well as a money laundering case involving the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI within the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction. The Director of Special Criminal Investigation for Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Victor Dean Mackbon, added that the investigation team has found suspected involvement of state officials. Simultaneously, the Attorney General’s Office deployed additional TNI personnel to guard the private residence of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah on Jalan Radio I, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, which has been under tight guard by over twenty uniformed and plainclothes soldiers since Wednesday afternoon.
