Jakarta, Kompas.com - Metro Jaya Regional Police discovered materials for making Molotov cocktails, slingshots, fireworks, and sharp weapons allegedly intended to be used by 101 people to incite riots during the Labour Day action in the DPR/MPR RI building area, Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

In addition, the police also found documents suspected to contain plans for carrying out riots.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that the seized items included materials for assembling Molotov bombs such as empty bottles, trigger cloths, and petrol.

Officers also found several concrete nails suspected to be used as tools to damage buildings or concrete barriers.

“They took advantage of the available time when some were attending speeches, while others damaged the concrete or barrier fences, so the plan was that when the time came for the riots, it would facilitate them in toppling the barrier fences,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the seized slingshots, fireworks, and sharp weapons were to be used to attack officers.

“This was prepared to carry out attacks on officers who were carrying out security duties. Likewise, we found and seized sharp weapons from their hands,” he said.

In addition to those items, the police also found communication devices, cash amounting to Rp 10 million, and a rundown document containing riot plans.

The document contained a schedule of activities that had been prepared by the hour, including the time for carrying out riots.

This document also included the flow of arrival at the location, assembly points, and routes to leave the DPR area.

“So, where they come from, then what happens, and where they have to return. They have already determined the assembly points,” he added.

Currently, the 101 people who have been arrested are still being questioned for further investigation.
