The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have seized a total of IDR 110 million in pocket money voluntarily returned by several influencers in connection with the investigation into the alleged fraud case involving Umrah travel bureau Hanania Group.

“From the total of 16 influencers who have been examined, some voluntarily returned the pocket money they received. A total of IDR 110 million has been collected by investigators and its status is seized to serve as evidence,” said the Head of Public Relations Sub-division of Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Andaru Rahutomo, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Andaru explained that the latest examination was conducted on an influencer with the initials KN (Karin Novilda), better known as Awkarin, on Monday. KN was questioned by the investigation team from 4:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. local time. During the examination, KN was asked 33 questions regarding her working relationship with Hanania Travel.

Following the questioning, KN voluntarily handed over the pocket money she had received from Hanania Travel to the police. In addition to examining the influencers, investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya are also probing allegations of money laundering committed by the travel bureau’s management.

As a progressive measure, the police have blocked three company accounts under the name PT Hanania Group and two personal accounts suspected of being linked to the illicit flow of funds. Polda Metro Jaya has affirmed its commitment to thoroughly investigating this case, which has caused losses to thousands of Umrah pilgrims, and is coordinating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) to trace all assets and fund flows of Hanania Travel.
