Police Seize Documents and Computers in Search of Cipete Shophouse Linked to Coal Corruption Case
Police have searched a shophouse in the Cipete area of South Jakarta as part of an investigation into money laundering linked to coal corruption. The Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated on Friday that the raid on the three-storey property was the 13th location searched in the case. Previous searches included a luxury house in Sentul, Bogor, which was later identified as belonging to the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. The shophouse was empty at the time of the search, and officers were required to cut a chain securing the front door to gain entry. The search was conducted in the presence of local residents after police presented the necessary court-issued warrant and search order. During the operation, investigators seized a number of documents and computers.
