The Satgas Gakkum Lundup of Bareskrim Polri raided PT TSL in connection with a case of illegal mobile phone imports from China. In addition to PT TSL, Bareskrim raided five warehouses in the Jakarta area.
The warehouses related to the illegal mobile phone imports are located at various points, including Jl Kapuk Kayu Besar in North Jakarta, a shophouse on Jalan Pluit Barat in North Jakarta, Mutiara Palem shophouse in West Jakarta, Citra Garden Housing Cluster Green Papyruss, Boulevard Raya shophouse in West Jakarta, and Toho shophouse in North Jakarta. Investigators Name Two Suspects
From witness examinations and document reviews of goods shipments, investigators named two suspects. “(Suspects initials) DCP and SJ,” said Ade.
The two suspects have different roles. DCP acted as the importer bringing goods into Indonesia in a non-new condition and without SNI certification, while SJ acted as the customer bringing goods into Indonesia in a non-new condition.
“SJ acted as the customer bringing goods into Indonesia in a non-new condition,” said Ade.
Bareskrim then developed the case. Today, Bareskrim raided PT TSL located in Sidoarjo.
“Today, the Tipideksus Investigators Team of Bareskrim Polri conducted a raid on the office of PT TSL, where investigators believe PT TSL is a holding company using several shell companies to handle documents for illegal mobile phone imports,” he continued.
He stated that the Gakkum Task Force of Satgas Lundup Bareskrim Polri, formed by Kapolri General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, will continue to conduct sweeps at all entry points for goods across the Indonesian Customs territory, both sea, land, and air, to ensure and guarantee that there are no more state financial leakages due to import practices using under-invoice, undeclared, or under-accounting methods.
“Polri’s commitment to strictly enforcing the law against all forms of smuggling crimes to save state assets or recover state financial losses as well as prevent state revenue leakages is a real manifestation of Polri’s commitment to protecting state/natural assets, securing state revenue sources, and enforcing the law firmly without discrimination to support national economic resilience, which is the foundation of state sovereignty,” added Ade.
