Police Seize 1,134 Bottles of Illegal Alcohol in Ciseeng, Bogor Raid

Police have carried out a raid on illegal alcoholic drinks (miras) in the Ciseeng district of Bogor, West Java. Thousands of bottles of illegal alcohol were seized in the operation.

“In order to create a safe and conducive situation of public security and order, the Parung Police Sector carried out enhanced policing activities targeting the circulation of illegal alcoholic drinks,” said the Parung Sector Police Chief, Police Commissioner Maman Firmansyah, on Saturday (11/7/2026).

The raid was conducted on Friday night (10/7) into the early hours of the following day. Police visited a storage and sales location for the illegal alcohol on Jalan Raya Ciseeng-Gunung Sindur.

“Following inspection, officers succeeded in securing a total of 1,134 bottles of illegal alcoholic drinks,” he said.

Maman said the seized alcohol comprised 714 unbranded and unlabelled bottles of ciu, as well as 420 unbranded and unlabelled bottles of Balinese arak.

“In addition to the evidence, officers also secured a man with the initials D (50) who is suspected of possessing and selling the illegal alcoholic drinks,” he added.

He said D was taken into custody and brought to the police station for further questioning. According to Maman, the raid was one step towards preventing various potential disturbances such as criminal acts, brawls, illegal street racing, mass fights and other public order disruptions frequently triggered by the consumption of illegal alcohol.

“We will continue to take action against all forms of illegal alcohol circulation as part of our efforts to maintain public security and order,” he explained.

“We also call on the public not to produce, distribute or consume illegal alcoholic drinks, and to report promptly if they become aware of similar activities in their neighbourhoods,” Maman added.
