Police Secure Evidence from Boarding House Where Taufik Hidayat Held Girlfriend Captive for Three Years
The Inafis (Automatic Fingerprint Identification System) team from the West Java Regional Police has conducted a crime scene investigation at the boarding house room of Taufik Hidayat, the perpetrator who held a woman captive for three years. The investigation lasted for two and a half hours.
According to detikJabar on Tuesday (23/6/2026), the location searched was a room in a boarding house in Cinunuk Village, Bandung Regency. Officers were seen securing a number of items of evidence from the room, which were promptly loaded into the Inafis team’s vehicle.
Officers were observed carrying the items using suitcases, backpacks, and white plastic bags. The entire crime scene investigation process was declared complete at exactly 2:30 PM Western Indonesian Time.
After completing the search, officers immediately left the scene. The police have yet to provide detailed information regarding the findings from the crime scene investigation.
The local neighbourhood head, Ahmad Solihin, confirmed that the police had finished their identification work at the location. According to him, the process took several hours.
“This is a crime scene investigation activity by the West Java Regional Police. The investigation took place from 12 noon until just now, half past two,” Ahmad said when met at the location.
“Items of evidence were taken, such as a helmet, clothing, bags, and everything was wrapped up. I don’t know much more than that because they were already taken from inside,” Ahmad explained.
Taufik Hidayat has now been named a suspect in the case of holding his girlfriend captive for three years. Police are still searching for Taufik.
